Introduction toHTML & CSS

Learn the basics of how to code and deploy your own website.

This class is for people with little or no programming background.

We will cover how to start coding in HTML and CSS, as well as non-technical concepts such as how to understand and solve common problems, how to evaluate different tools, and how to store and publish your code.

A solid foundation

This course is designed to be a starting point for you to understand the world of web development. Either as a foundation for future classes, or for you to continue exploring and learning via self-directed teaching.

Basic concepts: What is web development? What is the difference between an app and a website?
HTML: Learn the basics of HTML - what is it and how does it work?
CSS: Add style to your website with layout and typography
Debugging: How to help yourself when you inevitably get stuck, hit an error or run into a problem
Live Instructor: There are tons of great videos to learn from, but sometimes you just need to be able to ask a question
Online Class: We're all eager to get back to in person events, but for now, this class will be live on Zoom
3 Hours of Instruction: This class will cover basic concepts and some practical excercises over the course of 3 hours on a single evening
